Coat of Arms: Sudan’s national emblem was adopted in 1969, and prominently features a secretary bird bearing the shield of Muhammad Ahmad, who ruled briefly in the 19th century. The two scrolls above and below bear the name of the country and its national motto.

Renewing our Relations
The lifting of unilateral sanctions on Sudan in October 2017 by President Trump, has been a reset for US-Sudan economic relations and likely increase in trade between the two countries. Technical, cultural and scientific exchanges suddenly appeared more possible than they had in a generation, while mutually beneficial economic cooperation appear likely to restart. We continue to build our relations.
