The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has lauded the important role being played by the Sudan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the distinguished role of the outgoing Permanent Representative, Ambassador Abdul Mahmoud Abdul-Halim.

The UN Secretary General said Wednesday in a meeting he held with Ambassador Abdul-Halim on the occasion of the expiry of his term of office that he extended distinguished contributions in all UN activities, asking him to convey his greetings to the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Basher.
 
Meanwhile, the ambassador expressed thanks for all those who supported the mission during the last years, especially the President of the Republic, expressing satisfaction over the work of the mission.
 
Ambassador Abdul-Halim wished his successor successs, thanking all the sectors of the Sudanese peoples, especially the mass media for supporting the mission.
