AU summit calls for joint efforts to solve Darfur crisis

The African Union (AU) Summit in Kampala has described the referendum on Self-Determination of Southern Sudan as a major challenge facing the continent in the near future, pledging to accept its outcomes.

The summit also discussed the crisis in Darfur calling for joining efforts to solve it immediately.
Malawian President, Bngu Wa Mutharika, AU's current president, said that the international warrant against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir is a threat to African security.
The three day function is held under the slogan: "Maternal, Infant, and Child Health and Development in Africa."
